The district chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry would launch ‘Coimbatore NXT’, a unique initiative that aims at transforming the city into one of the most vibrant economic destinations in India, on September 12.

S Prashanth, chairman, CII-Coimbatore, said the plan was to strengthen local industries by guiding and preparing them to go global through the initiative. He said the Coimbatore NXT would also work towards attracting investments from around the globe for the traditional and sunrise sectors and nurture a vibrant start-up ecosystem.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore, will launch here on September 12 a long-term initiative called “Coimbatore NXT” to make the region a vibrant economic destination.

Having worked intensively for a year on the initiative, the CII has drafted a plan with a set of measures that will make Coimbatore visible, virbant, and attractive to skilled human resource and conglomerates across industrial verticals. These measures will be tagged with specific metrics that will be monitored, S. Prashanth, chairman of CII, Coimbatore, told presspersons here on Tuesday.

“We are a tier-two city with capabilities of a tier-one city. The Tamil Nadu government aims to make the State a $ 1 trillion economy by 2030. Coimbatore has to play a disproportionate role for the State to achieve this,” he said.

Detailing the need for Coimbatore NXT, Arjun Prakash, former chairman of CII, Coimbatore, said,“Industrial development in Coimbatore is several decades old with several well established businesses. The industries then had easy access to market, raw materials, cheap power, and manpower. The situation is changing and evolving. There are a lot of new technologies, fields of interest that are emerging among the youth and Coimbatore should provide opportunities for these people.”

The existing industries need to be made future ready and sun rise industries, such as electric vehicles, electronics, and precision engineering, need to be encouraged here, he added.

Mr. Prashanth said the initiative will focus for at least five years on growth of industries, create visibility for the region, and advocacy. It will launch on September 12 a portal, video, presentation on Coimbatore, report of the study done by the CII, and a digital collateral. There will be a Master class in which three Coimbatore-based entrepreneurs who have taken their enterprises to the global platform will address the participants.

Further, 30 companies have come forward to work with CII and develop a vision to scale up and strategies to achieve the vision for their respective organisations.

Mr. Prashanth and Mr. Arjun Prakash also said that the study done by the CII for this project had listed the areas that need to be addressed to enable Coimbatore and its industries realise their full potential. The CII will work with other associations, stakeholders, and the government on these bottlenecks.

தொழில், வர்த்தகம்,தகவல் தொடர்பு, போக்குவரத்து, சாலைவசதி, வானூர்தி சேவை உள்ளிட்ட அனைத்திலும் துறை சார்ந்த நிறுவனங்களுடன், இணைந்து பணியாற்றி சி.ஐ.ஐ., புதிய நம்பிக்கையை விதைக்க உள்ளது. 

தொழில் முனைவோர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டவும், அவர்களை உலக அளவில் வணிகம் செய்ய தயார் படுத்தவும், உள்ளூர் தொழில்களை வலுப்படுத்தவும் உதவும். 

உலகம் முழுவதிலுமிருந்து முதலீடுகளை ஈர்த்து, ஸ்டார்ட் அப்  சூழலை வளர்ப்பதற்கு, முயற்சி மேற்கொள்ளும், வளர்ந்து வரும் துறைகளில் புதிய முதலீட்டை சி.ஐ.ஐ., பெற முயற்சிக்கும். இவ்வாறு, அவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

கோவையின் தொழில் வளர்ச்சிக்காக ‘கோவை நெக்ஸ்ட்’ என்ற திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட இருப்பதாக இந்திய தொழில் கூட்டமைப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இது தொடர்பாக அந்த அமைப்பின் மண்டலத் தலைவர் எஸ்.பிரசாந்த், முன்னாள் தலைவர் அர்ஜுன் பிரகாஷ் ஆகியோர் செய்தியாளர்களிடம் புதன்கிழமை கூறியதாவது:

கோவையில் வளர்ந்து வரும் துறைக ளில் புதிய முதலீடுகளைப் பெறுவதற்காக நாட்டின் முக்கிய பெருநகரங்கள், உல கின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் உள்ள பங்குதாரர்களை அணுகும் வகையிலும், உள்ளூர் தொழில்களை வலுப்படுத்தி, அவர்களை உலக அளவில் வணிகம் செய்ய தயார்படுத் தவும் புதிய முயற்சியாக ‘கோவை நெக்ஸ்ட்’ திட்டம் வரும் 12ஆம் தேதி தொடங்கப்பட உள்ளது.

தொழில் திறனை மூலதனமாக்குவது எப்படி என்பது உள்ளிட்ட விவரங்களுடன், தொழில் துறையில் உள்ள பிரபலங்கள் நடத்தும் வகுப்புகள் போன்றவையும் இந் தத் திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இடம் பெற இருப்பதாக அவர்கள் மேலும் தெரிவித்தனர்.

Coimbatore, Sept 6: The Confederation of Indian Industry would launch Coimbatore NXT next week, an initiative aimed at making the city most vibrant economic destinations in the country, a top official of the industry body said on Tuesday. The Coimbatore NXT initiative would be launched on September 12 in the presence of senior government officials and industrialists to strengthen the local industries besides helping them to grow, CII Coimbatore zone chairman S Prasanth said.

Talking to reporters, he said the Coimbatore NXT would also work towards attracting investments in traditional and sunrise sectors, besides nurturing start-ups.

Coimbatore NXT would be a continuous and progressive multi-year initiative. It would aim to capture and capitalise on the fullest potential of our region, CII Coimbatore zone past chairman Arjun Prakash said.

To make the region a vibrant economic destination, the Confederation of Indian Industry-Coimbatore launched a long-term initiative called ‘Coimbatore NXT’ in the city on Monday.

The initiative was launched by the chairman of the CII-southern region and joint managing director of Bharat Biotech International Limited Suchitra Ella. The initiative aims at improving industries and business capabilities and nurturing the start-up ecosystem of the region.

Addressing the gathering, Suchitra Ella said Coimbatore businesses should leapfrog, connect with R & D institutes, be innovative and provide the best skill sets to its students and workforce.

S Prashanth, chairman of CII-Coimbatore said, “Coimbatore NXT is all about reimagining the economic potential of this region and making it one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies through inclusivity and sustainable growth.”

Through this initiative, he said existing businesses in the district will be given guidance and support to expand their business levels and set foot in the global markets. Coimbatore NXT will also reach out to the stakeholders in the government and share and stress to them about the policies needed for development with regards to infrastructure, he explained.

Former chairman of CII-Coimbatore Arjun Prakash said Coimbatore contributes 13% of Tamil Nadu’s GDP. By enhancing the industries of this region through Coimbatore NXT, the city can contribute even greater to the $1 trillion economy goal of the TN government, he added. District collector GS Sameeran, deputy chairman of CII-southern region Kamal Bali, and managing director and CEO of Karur Vysya Bank Ramesh Babu were present.

ஆசியாவில் வேகமாக வளரும் பொருளாதார நகராக கோவை மாவட்டத்தை மாற்றும் நோக்கத்தில் இந்திய தொழில்கள் கூட்டமைப்பு (சிஐஐ) சார்பில் ‘கோவை நெக்ஸ்ட்’ என்ற செயல்திட்டம் தொடக்கவிழா கோவையில் நேற்று முன்தினம் நடைபெற்றது.

சிஐஐ தென்மண்டல தலைவர் சுசித்ரா, துணைத் தலைவர் கமல்பாலி, கரூர் வைஸ்யா வங்கியின் நிர்வாக இயக்குநர் ரமேஷ்பாபு உள்ளிட்டோர் ‘கோவை நெக்ஸ்ட்’ செயல்திட்டத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தனர்.

சிஐஐ கோவை மண்டல தலைவர் பிரசாந்த் பேசும்போது, ‘‘தேசிய அளவில் வேகமாக வளர்ந்துவரும் இரண்டாம் நிலை நகரங்களில் ஒன்றாக கோவை உள்ளது. பல்வேறு தொழில்களில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் போதும், உலகளவில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் நிறுவனங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையில் கோவை பின் தங்கியுள்ளது.

எனவே, கோவையில் பன்னாட்டு பிரபல தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் முதலீடு செய்வதை ஊக்குவிக்கவும், ஏற்கெனவே கோவையில் செயல்படும் தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் கட்டமைப்பை உலக தரத்தில் மேம்படுத்த உதவும் நோக்கிலும் ‘கோவை நெக்ஸ்ட்’ திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

தமிழகத்தின் ஒட்டுமொத்த வளர்ச்சி விகிதத்தில் கோவை மாவட்டம் 13 சதவீதம் பங்களிப்பு கொண்டுள்ளது. தற்போது தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ள செயல்திட்டத்தால் ஒரு டிரில்லியன் டாலர் பொருளாதாரத்தை அடைய வேண்டும் என்ற தமிழக அரசின் நோக்கத்தை அடைய இணைந்து செயல்பட உள்ளோம்” என்றார்.

கோவை மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் ஜி.எஸ்.சமீரன் பேசும்போது, ‘‘கோவை மாவட்டத்தின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு இதுபோன்ற செயல்திட்டங்கள் மிகவும் பயன் தரும். நாடு 100-வது சுதந்திர தின விழாவை கொண்டாடும்போது கோவை மாவட்டம் மிகச் சிறப்பான வளர்ச்சியுடன் திகழும்’’ என்றார்.

‘கோவை நெக்ஸ்ட்’ செயல்திட்ட உறுப்பினர்கள் சஞ்சய் ஜெயவர்தனவேலு, சுந்தரராமன், ஜெய்ராம் வரதராஜ், அர்ஜூன் பிரகாஷ், ஜெயகுமார் ராம்தாஸ், நந்தினி, ரவிசாம், சங்கர் வாணவராயர் உள்ளிட்ட பலர் விழாவில் பங்கேற்றனர்.

The existing businesses in the district will be given guidance and support to expand and set foot in the global markets, he added. District Collector GS Sameeran was among those present on the occasion.

CII Coimbatore chapter launched the exclusive initiative ‘Coimbatore NXT’ for the growth of the city on global terms and to meet up international standards in all sectors.
Coimbatore being the major contributor, this initiative aids in achieving the vision of the $1 trillion GDP for Tamil Nadu.

Kezevino Aram, President, Shanti Ashram, presented a brief run through the statistical view on the growth of India. Focusing more on Children, the stability of growth depends on the age group of 0-6 years.

Ravi Sam, Past Chairman, Tamil Nadu State Council & Managing Director, Adwaith Lakshmi Industries Pvt Ltd. in his welcome note praised the salient features of Coimbatore city.

Shankar Vanavarayar, Vice Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu State Council & Executive Director, ABT Industries. briefed the audience on the historic run of the city. Nilgiris is a biodiversity hub the pride and the survival instinct of human capital.

Arjun Prakash, Past President, CII, shared insights on the vibrant industrial ecosystem in Coimbatore in major sectors of industry. Emphasized more the survey reports that revealed the strengths and weaknesses of the city.

Prashanth Subramanian, Chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone emphasized the concept of bridging the gap between the higher potential and the current achievements. Alongside presenting the features of the tier 2 cities in comparison to Coimbatore’s growth and the existential potential for development. He proposed the vision of the ‘Coimbatore Nxt’.

“Coimbatore Nxt” will redefine the scope and potential of the city, said District Collector G.S. Sameeran here on Monday as he launched the initiative of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

“It (Coimbatore) is a superstar city. Like many superstars we think of our glorious past, bask in our legacy…We need somebody to reinvent ourselves. The CII has done that by launching the Coimbatore Next initiative,” he said. The logo for the initiative stands for audacity, courage, and ambition. Coimbatore Next is about re-imagining what Coimbatore will be at India at 100. The initiative is a right step at the right time, he added.

Chairman of CII, Coimbatore, Prashanth Subramanian, said “We need to build on the strengths and welcome new investments.” Coimbatore is among the top five in comparable cities in parameters such as infrastructure, human capital, cost, and industry. The mission of Coimbatore Next is to re-imagine the economic potential of the region through inclusive and sustainable growth. It will have three pillars – growth, visibility, and advocacy that will go on for five to 10 years. The initiative will focus on scaling up existing, local businesses; build new businesses; attract investments; promote Coimbatore, and score on living standards.

Ravi Sam, former chairman of CII Tamil Nadu, said Coimbatore has room for more players and the best in all sectors, including manufacturing, education, and healthcare. Better flight connectivity will enable the region broaden its presence in all these sectors.

Shankar Vanavarayar, vice chairman of CII Tamil Nadu, who spoke on “Coimbatore So Far”, said the region has had an enterprising past as Coimbatore was a centre of trade even in the ancient times. Limited availability of resources made its people enterprising.

According to Arjun Prakash, former chairman of CII, Coimbatore zone, the new Coimbatore saw its entrepreneurship spread from textiles to engineering and to various other sectors and today has a vibrant industrial ecosystem in a host of sectors – jewellery, poultry, precision engineering, etc. It is also known for many firsts and now has to make an impact in sunrise sectors.

Ramesh Babu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Karur Vysya Bank, Kamal Bali, deputy Chariman of CII, Southern Region, and Suchitra K. Ella, Chairperson of CII, Southern Region participated in the event.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் கோவை கலெக்டர் சமீரன், தொழிலதிபர்கள் சங்கர் வானவராயர், சுந்தரராமன், செந்தில்கணேஷ், ஜெயராம் வரதராஜ, அர்ஜுன் பிரகாஷ், ஜெயக்குமார், பிரசாந்த், நந்தினி, ரவிஷாம், ரமேஷ் பாபு, ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர். 

கோவை நெக்ஸ்ட்’ துவக்க விழா, நேற்று லீ மெரிடியன் ஓட்டலில் நடந்தது. விழாவில், சி.ஐ.ஐ.,  தமிழ்நாடு மாநில கவுன்சில் முன்னாள் தலைவர் ரவிசாம் வரவேற்றார். இது வரை கோவையின் நிலை குறித்து, சி.ஐ.ஐ., தமிழ்நாடு மாநில கவுன்சில் துணைத்தலைவர் சங்கர் வாணவராயர் விளக்கினார்.

துவக்க விழாவில், சி.ஐ.ஐ., கோவைகிளையின் தலைவர் பிரசாந்த் பேசியதாவது:

கோவையை  அடுத்த கட்டத்துக்கு உயர்த்துவது  குறித்து, கடந்த 15 மாதங்களாக பல்வேறு தொழில் துறையின் முன்னோடிகளுடன் ஆலோசனைகளை மேற்கொண்டோம். கோவையின் வேகமான வளர்ச்சிக்கு தேவையான, ஐந்து முக்கிய அம்சங்கள் இதில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டன. கோவையில் உள்ள தொழிற்சாலைகள் உற்பத்தியை அதிகரிக்க வேண்டும். அவற்றோடு மதிப்பு கூட்டு பொருட்களையும் உற்பத்தி செய்ய வேண்டும். தற்போதுள்ள தொழில்கள் தவிர அதிக வாய்ப்புகள் உள்ள தொழில்களை தொடங்க வேண்டும்.

குறிப்பாக, எலக்ட்ராவனிக்ஸ், ரோபோட்டிக்ஸ் சில் கவனம் செலுத்த லாம். ஸ்டார்ட் அப் களை ஊக்கப்படுத்த வேண்டும். கோவை நகரில் பெரும் அளவில் உற்பத்தி செய் யும் பெரும் தொழிற்சாலை எதுவும் இல்லை. இதை போக்க வெளிநாட்டு நேரடி முதலீட்டை கவர தேவை யான நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

கோவையில் உள்ள, அடிப்படை கட்டமைப்பு வசதிகள் பற்றி விளக்கம் கொடுத்து, கோவையின் பெயரை வெளி மாநிலங்களுக்கும், வெளிநாடுகளுக்கும் தெரியப்படுத்த வேண்டும். மக்கள் வாழ்வதற்கு வசதியான நகரமாக, கோவை அருமையான இடமாக ஆய்வுகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.

முதல் நிலை நகரங்களுக்கான வசதிகளுடன், இரண்டாம் நிலை நகரமாக கோவை உள்ளது. தேவையான அனைத்து வசதிகளும் உள்ள கோவையில் தொழில் தொடங்க, பெரும் தொழில் நிறுவனங்களுடன் பேச்சு நடத்த சி.ஐ.ஐ.. முயன்று வருகிறது.

தமிழகத்தின் பொருளாதாரத்தில், கோவை மிக முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கிறது.

கோவையின் பொருளாதாரத்தை உயர்த்த தொழில் அமைப்புகள், அரசு அதிகாரிகள், தனியார் நிறுவனங்கள் ஒருங்கிணைந்து, புதிய செயலாக்க திட்டத்தை உருவாக்க வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு,  பிரசாந்த் பேசினார்.
